The Rangers and the Rays will both be looking to take a 2-1 series advantage on Monday night as they play Game 3 of their best-of-five ALDS in Tampa Bay.

Texas got back into the set with an 8-6 win at home in Game 2 on Saturday; Tampa Bay had won the opener 9-0 on the road last Friday.

Colby Lewis (14-10, 4.40 ERA) will be the Rangers' starting pitcher for Game 3; Lewis dominated the Rays back in June by throwing eight scoreless innings.

The Rays counter with David Price (12-13, 3.49 ERA) on Monday; Price pitched against Texas in early September, surrendering two runs over six innings.

New York Yankees at Detroit Tigers (October 3rd)

The ALDS between the Yankees and Tigers shifts to Detroit for Game 3 on Monday night, with both teams slated to send their ace pitchers to the mound again.

New York's CC Sabathia and Detroit's Justin Verlander both started Game 1 last Friday night, giving up one run each before the game was suspended due to rain.

Left-hander Sabathia went 19-8 with a 3.00 ERA for the Yankees during the regular season, while Verlander went a league-best 24-5 with a 2.40 ERA for the Tigers.

The Tigers and Yankees played Game 2 of their ALDS in New York on Sunday afternoon, with the Tigers winning 5-3 to tie up the best-of-five set at one win each.

Arizona Diamondbacks at Milwaukee Brewers (October 4th)

The National League's playoff series resumes on Tuesday when the Brewers and Diamondbacks play Game 3 of their Division Series in Arizona.

Milwaukee will hand the ball to Shaun Marcum (13-7, 3.54 ERA) on Tuesday; the right-hander was thumped by the Pirates last game (seven runs over 4 2-3 innings).

Josh Collmenter (10-10, 3.38 ERA) is expected to start for the D-Backs in Game 3, with the right-hander shutting out the Brewers over his eight innings back in July.

Game 2 of the NLDS between the D-Backs and Brewers was played on Sunday afternoon, with Milwaukee winning 9-4 at home to grab a 2-0 lead in the series.

Round-Up

Tuesday also offers up Game 3 between the Phillies and Cardinals in St. Louis, with Cole Hamels (14-9, 2.79 ERA) set to face Jaime Garcia (13-7, 3.56 ERA).

In the ALDS on Tuesday it'll be Game 4 between the Rangers and Rays in Tampa, as Matt Harrison (14-9, 3.39 ERA) faces Jeremy Hellickson (13-10, 2.95 ERA).

Game 4 between the Yankees and Tigers in Detroit is also on Tuesday, with the pitchers currently listed as A.J. Burnett (11-11, 5.15 ERA) and Rick Porcello (14-9, 4.75 ERA).

Caroline Wozniacki enters yet another competition as top-seed, although she underperformed in the first round against Lucie Hradecka (3-6, 6-0, 7-5) having completed just 45% of her first serves.

Second-seed Victoria Azarenka enters the competition on the back of a good run in Tokyo where she reached the semi-finals after toppling Marion Bartoli 7-5, 6-0. Her season would undoubtedly have been more successful if she hadn't faced Serena Williams twice in August, losing both times.

Like Azarenka, third-seed Vera Zvonareva put in a quality performance in Tokyo only to be defeated by Agnieszka Radwanska (in the final). A 7-2, 6-0 victory over Petra Kvitova in that competition will have undoubtedly boasted her confidence, although she'll be well aware that Kvitova and Radwanska lurk in her side of the draw.

With Li Na out – continuing to suffer from a post-Grand Slam jinx – Samantha Stosur is the fifth-highest seed still left in the competition. She'll have to overcome Julia Goerges and Roberta Vinci to reach the final 16.

With the hardest draw of the seeds, Francesca Schiavone will face the strongest two of Flavia Pennetta, Daniela Hantuchova, Shaui Peng and Dominika Chibulkova in her next matches. After that, she'll expect to face Wozniacki in the quarter-finals.

Marion Bartoli, who announced she was playing the best she had ever been a fortnight ago, has been struggling for form her since and took two and a half hours to topple Iveta Benesova in the first round.

Rafael Nadal travels to Japan to defend his 2010 title after a fine exhibition of tennis in the Davis Cup two weeks ago. The Spaniard thrashed both Richard Gasquet and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in straight-sets, taking a set 6-0 against both opponents.

Nadal hasn't played on the ATP tour since his US Open defeat to Novak Djokovic, where he took the final to four sets despite being off his best.

Andy Murray enters the competition as second-seed with confidence high, having successfully defended his PPT Thailand title for the third time last week.

Murray last contended the Rakuten Open in 2006, losing his first match. This year his first game will be against Marcos Baghdatis, who reached the Kuala Lumpur final last week.

Third-seed David Ferrer is the only man in the competition with more wins in Japan than Nadal, with a 7-2 record in the competition. He won the title in 2007, although to repeat the feat he'll probably need someone else to knock-out Nadal, who he has beaten only once in their past nine meetings.

Kuala Lumpur Open winner Janko Tipsarevic – who is currently experiencing the best season of his career – is sixth-seed to lift the title. His early rounds see him take on Dmitry Tursunov and Robin Haase, however – not an easy task for anyone.

Other seeds include Mardy Fish (last in Tokyo in 2002) and Viktor Troicki, who has drawn the upset-causing young Bernard Tomic in the first round.

ATP Betting – China Open

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is having the best year of his career – and thanks to Djokovic's injury – enters the China Open as top-seed.

The Frenchman's good form (excluding a disappointing Davis Cup exchange with Nadal) should propel him into the final 16 – a stage he has reached twice before.

Fellow Gaelic-entrant Gael Monfils is debuting in the competition and will also look to bounce-back from the Davis Cup disaster that saw him lose in straight sets to Nadal.

The other ten top competitor in Beijing is Tomas Berdych, whose title aspirations have been toppled by Tipsarevic twice in the last two months. The Czech has been in consistent form all season with a 42-18 record, but is yet to put a string of six victories to earn a title.

Other top seeds include Nicholas Almagro (No. 4), Gilles Simon (5) and Andy Roddick (6) – the only previous winner in contention.
